  Asec Umali: All Teachers are heroes!

Sison, Surigao del Norte - That was the gist of the speech given by the DepEd Assistant Secretary for Legal and Legislative Affairs Tonisito M.C. Umali before a crowd made up mostly of pupils when he made a short stop over at the Bad-as Elementary School yesterday morning. With him was DepEd Caraga ARD Rebecca V. De lapuz, SDS Dr. Evelyn R. Fetalvero and SDN Division Administrative Officer Joel B. Rosales. Umali and his party arrived at around eleven a.m. in the middle of a pupils' program for World Teachers' Day. Citing the important and heroic deeds the teachers have to do, he asked the pupils to say I love you to their teachers in unison.

       In Sison Central Elementary School, which was the next stop, they were met by PSDS Virginia P. Paqueo, Lucila L. Inot, Principal II of Sison Central Elementary School and Sison SPED Center (Eva E. Josue of SSC is on two-month study leave) amidst the festive mood brought by the marching band and the flaglet- carrying pupils. The Kindergarten pupils, with the able guidance of Teachers Robelyn Lagonoy and Jercillyn Joy Dagooc, wowed the Asec and his party when they performed a calisthenics dance.  Visibly impressed, he proceeded to tour the school facilities which was still fresh from the recent evaluation of The Search for the Most Outstanding Public Elementary and Secondary Schools.
          Asec Tonisito M.C. Umali was the guest of honor of the 2013 World Teachers' Day and Fellowship Dinner which was held at the Provincial Convention Center in Surigao City. (Evans B. Daguman)
