SDN Schools gear up for 2014 Brigada Eskwela

Surigao City – Schools all over the Division of Surigao del Norte are now preparing for the conduct of the annual national school maintenance week or otherwise known as Brigada Eskwela. According to DepEd Memorandum No. 32 s. 2014, it will run from May 19 -24, 2014. It also encourages interested individuals and organizations to participate by extending their time and effort as well as available resources to ensure that the schools will be ready for the opening of the new school year on June 2.

    The 2014 Brigada Eskwela kick-off ceremony will be held on May 19, 2014 at Placer District with the Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Evelyn R. Fetalvero, CESO VI along with the key personnel from the Division Office. It shall coincide with the synchronized nationwide launching ceremonies which shall feature a caravan and other related activities.

   Since its inception in 2003, Brigada Eskwela had always been an avenue for people and organizations to volunteer for the schools in their vicinity before the June opening of classes. This year, its focus is on making the schools disaster-ready and disaster –resilient.
