Surigao City - As most of the world has already connected to the virtual global community called the World Wide Web, the Division of Surigao del Norte Department of Education recently joined in with the launching of its website last Thursday, March 20 at the Division Resource and Training Center this city.
Dr. Evelyn R. Fetalvero, CESO VI, the Schools Division Superintendent worded her support to the need to be digitally adept and for the schools to be online for smoother and faster transactions. She encouraged the school administrators to explore the vast richness of the internet especially the services and resources offered by the division's website.
The site, with address at www.depedsurigaodelnorte.com, was developed by Ixomsoft, a Manila-based software and development company. Their representatives made it clear that the site is still on soft launch which means that it is still undergoing improvements and not all of its features can be used for the meantime. On the other hand, Mr. Joel Rosales, the Division Administrative Officer said that soon, all reports from the field can be sent online minus the need for hard copies. He further added that the schools should subscribe to internet services to avail of such advantage.Evans B. Daguman
