Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visits Sison

Sison, Surigao del Norte - The laid back Dakung Patag in Sison, Surigao del Norte will soon be on the spotlight once again as it will play host to no less than Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the second daughter of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, of the Kingdom of Thailand as she visits Dakung Patag Elementary School on Tuesday,January 19.

   The school, which gained the Princess' favor, when Dr. Emma L. Caneda and two of her staff were invited to visit the Kingdom in 2014 along with other Filipino delegates due to their winning in the 2014 Regional Level Search for Best School Garden, were awarded with food production projects to augment the programs already in place.

    Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador is set to personally inspect the projects which will be funded by the Kingdom. These were previously given a thorough run through during the visit of the Thai Ambassador H.E. Mr. Thanatip Upatising who attended the project launching on September 10 2014 along with a group of technological experts.

   According to Dolorosa G. Delicano, the Head Teacher of Dakung Patag Elementary School, preparations for the Princess' visit have been ongoing since December last year. She further added that, based on her previous meetings with the embassy staff assigned to secure the event, there are set of protocols which are to be strictly followed as what is common with the royals.

   A number of personalities coming from the LGU and the Division Office of Surigao del Norte are expected to grace the occasion such as the Deped Regional Director May B. Eclar, the Honorable Governor Sol F. Matugas,  the  Honorable Mayor Leicester P. Fetalvero, Schools Division Superintendent Fidela M. Rosas, to count a few.
