Sison hosts 3rd Div Mancom

The District of Sison hosted this year’s 3rd Division Management Committee (MANCOM) conference on Oct. 24.

Sison District was the top choice  for the next venue during the  previous conference at Claver on Aug. 2013.

Preparations had already been made since September with the leadership of Mrs. Virginia P. Paqueo, district supervisor.  She said that “hosting a MANCOM conference is a great opportunity for us to showcase the good things in our district”.

Important trends in education and the latest issues concerning the Department were the highlights of the said activity. It was capped with visits to featured schools within the district.

The conference is held every two months with different districts hosting.  Some 220 school administrators from across the division including the members of the Division Office and its promotional staff attended the conference.

The district is within the Municipality of Sison which shares a border with Surigao City and is the first town one will pass through on the way to the South by land.  It is home to 13 public elementary schools and three high schools and with one private school. It is the only district in the division having a SPED Center with clients coming from the city and other neighboring municipalities. Its central school, Sison Central Elementary School, is this year’s Most Outstanding Elementary School of a province-initiated search. (Evans B. Daguman)
