1,098 take ALS A & E Test


 Sison, Surigao del Norte – This year’s Nationwide test for ALS Accreditation & Equivalency (A&E) was held at Sison District with three schools namely Sison Central Elementary School and SPED Center, Mabuhay Elementary School and Toledo S .Pantilo Sr. Memorial National High School serving as Testing Centers last October 6, 2013.

The test was administered by the 51 proctors composed of select elementary and secondary teachers. Dr. Rosalinda Tagay acted as lead examiner from the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) along with Mr. Allan Brum of the Bureau of Secondary Education Division.

During the test, Dr. Isidro M. Biol, Jr. EPS-II was around being the Regional Monitoring for the A&E Administration.

The event was so amazing for it comprises with individuals from different age groups from 11 years old- youngest qualifier for elementary level and even more than 60 year old in both levels. All of them manifested their will of passing.

 The test has an allotted time of 4 hours and 15 minutes for secondary level with 2 parts essay and 250 items multiple choice while 4 hours for the elementary with essay and 200 item multiple choice.

Atmosphere of the different testing centers were so favorable and conducive leading to the successful conduct of the exam. In fact, national representatives commended the place in its appealing nature.

The activity was made possible through the leadership of Mrs. Julieta P. Erazo, EPS – I ALS with the assistance of the Sison District ALS Manager Mrs. Virginia P.Paqueo and District ALS Coordinator Anifel L. Loayon.

The Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency Test (ALS A & E) conducted annually to enable the takers to qualify for higher level education. Since 2007, Sison District has always been the site of testing center for takers from Surigao del Norte. (Dolorosa G. Delicano)
